Experienced Auto Glass Installation Technician

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. This position requires a combination of technical skills and excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order systems, and MRM technology.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate a company vehicle.
• Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist body, use various hand and power tools, operate a motor vehicle safely, communicate verbally and in writing, and maintain a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Valid state-issued driver’s license and any other required licenses to operate a company vehicle.
• Preferred: GED/Equivalent.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools to complete recalibrations and troubleshoot issues.
• Problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret the English language and technical directions.
• Ability to communicate orally and written, including via computer or other electronic means.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and adhere to Company uniform and PPE policies.
• Willingness and ability to maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure and opposition.
