This role focuses on supporting the acquisition, development, sale, and leasing of restaurant, retail, and manufacturing facilities, including local and national multi-unit properties for sophisticated clients. The position involves close collaboration with our real estate and mergers & acquisitions teams and includes meaningful work on title and survey matters, transaction documents, due diligence, and closings.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and review commercial real estate agreements, including leases, purchase and sale agreements, conveyance documents, and related closing materials.
  • Conduct title and survey review, due diligence, and manage the closing process.
  • Identify and summarize key issues in purchase agreements, leases, title commitments, surveys, and closing documents with clear, concise drafting skills.
  • Exercise sound judgment in raising issues, asking questions, recommending practical next steps, and communicating clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Organize and follow through on due diligence checklists, closing timelines, and transaction deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, lenders, surveyors, and internal team members.
  • Ensure documents are carefully reviewed, accurate, and ready for signature.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of commercial real estate experience at a law firm, in-house legal department, or comparable real estate environment.
  • Experience with leasing, financing, and Phase I environmental review is a plus.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota (or eligible for immediate admission).

Pay

Salary range: $175,000–$185,000.
