Experienced Assembler – Assembler I - 2nd Shift (Mon-Thurs from 3pm-1am & Overtime on Friday as necessary)

Sportech is a rapidly growing company in Elk River, MN, seeking talented individuals to join a values-based team that supports both employees and customers. We design, manufacture, and assemble components and systems for various industries including powersports, golf and turf, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

Responsibilities

• Assemble parts or units, align and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies or frames using hand tools and power tools
• Promote a "safety first" mindset and ensure adherence to safety procedures and guidelines
• Lead by example and align with company core beliefs and values
• Foster an environment of trust, collaboration, accountability, and service to the team and community
• Verify stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assemblies, parts, and fasteners per the job traveler
• Perform necessary quality checks on product prior to assembly and report issues to line lead
• Confirm proper functionality of power/hand tools prior to use
• Pack finished product into designated cartons
• Identify assembly and packing problems and report to line lead for assistance
• Absorb and utilize design documentation and verbal/written instructions to assemble, rework, or reassemble units
• Train new employees and temporary staff as needed
• Assist with line lead duties such as setting up work stations, completing daily documentation, entering numbers into Epicor system, and leading daily operations of line/cell
• Assist with machine operating (CNC, VAC, Drape, Screen Print) as needed
• Maintain a clean work area and demonstrate safety awareness
• Perform material handling duties (movement of material and finished goods from warehouse to production) as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
• Proficient in use of Epicor system
• Knowledgeable in the use of basic computer programs
• Ability to fulfill essential duties
• Ability to safely perform work in varying work conditions
• Understanding and following directions using the English language
• May require forklift certification

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a consistent basis
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull on a continuous and repetitive basis
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours
• Excellent hand/eye coordination
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use power tools
• Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
• Consistent ability to wear personal protective equipment
• Work in production facility with fluctuating temperatures and humidity levels

Pay

The starting pay for this position is $23.00 per hour, which includes a $20.00 base hourly rate plus a $3.00 per hour shift differential for working 2nd shift. Pay may also include variable compensation such as overtime, shift differentials, and bonuses (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
