Experienced Asphalt Equipment Operator

Heavy Equipment Operator position focused on safe and efficient operation of equipment for asphalt paving and utility construction.

Responsibilities

• Field experience with digging operations in rural and urban areas around utilities.
• Perform daily maintenance on construction equipment.
• Operate equipment including backhoe, excavator, skid-steer, vibratory roller, or paver.
• Perform routine labor such as potholing, equipment set-up, conduit/duct/cable placement, and setting pedestals.
• Drive vehicle/trailer hauling equipment to and around job sites.
• Assist with all aspects of the job including basic labor responsibilities.
• Maintain equipment and hand tools.
• Read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
• Abide by all company, manufacturer, and industry safety procedures and standards; attend mandatory safety meetings.

Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License; Chauffer's license required.
• Must pass pre-employment screenings.
• Demonstrated field experience operating backhoe, excavator, cable plow, or track hoe around utilities.
• General knowledge of utility construction procedures, including print reading.
• Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a willingness to learn.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical and Environmental Factors

• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
• Ability to walk, sit, stand, bend, twist, stoop, push, pull, carry, and lift as needed.
• Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time.
