Experienced Architectural / Production Designer

About the role

This position requires the Designer to oversee the technical drafting process, enforce quality control standards, and manage deliverables to keep projects on schedule and within budget. The Designer will proactively produce Construction Drawings for modular buildings and drive innovation and efficiency in production.

Other duties include reading architectural plans and engineering documents for accuracy, producing Revit models converted to framed elements via the Strucsoft/MWF plugin, and interacting with municipal and state requirements affecting building. The role also involves building permit submittals, plan and file management, distribution, and subcontracting work with engineering firms as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create shop drawings for framing operations.
• Create shop drawings for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression operations.
• Print and distribute plans for production and office use.
• Manage updates and revisions of plans as requested.
• Manage plan submittals for local and state governments as required.
• Seek creative ways to gain efficiency in product development.
• Collaborate with the production team to achieve company goals.
• Work with and meet measurable KPIs through reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of CAD experience with a solid background in building design.
• Proficiency in the latest versions of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and MS Office programs.
• General knowledge of plan reading and framing.
• Experience working with architectural production drawings and material knowledge.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills.
