About the Role

Mead & Hunt, an award-winning national architecture and engineering firm, has a full-time position available for an Experienced Airport Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Midwest group. This exciting opportunity is available in the following locations: Middleton, WI (greater Madison area); De Pere, WI; and West Allis (Milwaukee), WI.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and leading military and federal aviation engineering projects
  • Evaluating and analyzing existing projects
  • Preparing reports, budgets, cost estimates, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, and permits
  • Leading proactive client interactions, marketing and communications with federal aviation clients
  • Preparing scoping documents, fee estimates, and marketing strategies for proposed projects
  • Oversee schedules and budgets for projects including forecasting workloads and monitoring work task hours
  • Performing QA/QC tasks including leading design reviews
  • Primary point of contact for client interactions providing regular project status updates
  • Serving as the project manager and mentoring project staff; and serving as the onsite project engineer on construction projects
  • Other tasks as assigned

A valid driver's license and frequent travel will be required.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or university
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • PE license in any state with ability to obtain a PE license in additional states as needed

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with aviation and federal site design is preferred
  • AutoCAD Civil3D design software
  • Leading the development of plans, specs, reports, cost estimates, and submittal packages for military projects
  • SpecsIntact software
  • PCASE software
  • Project QA/QC including leading design reviews
  • Preparing scopes, fees, and contracts
  • Client management and marketing
  • Mentoring project staff
  • Project management
