Experienced Accountant, Tax Services
About the role
The Experienced Staff, Tax Services professional at RubinBrown manages client engagements with precision and quality, blending technical expertise, client communication, and team leadership to deliver insights, strengthen relationships, and drive performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Tax return preparation and review
- Working with clients to review, complete and edit their record keeping
- Tax research and planning
- Consulting on financial and tax matters
- Identify and communicate tax planning ideas for clients, including tax research, computations and related documentation
- Identify and communicate accounting matters to other engagement team members
- Supervise the tax staff assigned to the engagement (if designated as In-Charge)
- Participate in the budget process
Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting or related degree
- CPA or other related certification
- A minimum of two years of current and or recent tax experience in public accounting
- Strong technical skills including the ability to effectively utilize technology and the commitment to learning in the technology environment
- Excellent supervisory, analytical and leadership ability
- Ability to meet challenging client requirements, provide services, and possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strict adherence to professional ethics
Preferred Experience/Background/Skills
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations
- Travel for this position will be approximately 5% of the year
- Sit for long periods of time
- Moves throughout office
- Lifts, carries, pushes, pulls up to 10-30 pounds
- Effectively communicates with clients, team members, etc.

- Typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations

Pay
The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential applicants who will work or reside in the states of Colorado, Nevada or Illinois, if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant skills and prior relevant experience, degrees and certifications (e.g. JD, MBA, CPA, CFE, CISA, CFP).
Schedule
The schedule for this role is typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional travel and extra hours as needed.
