About the role

As a Medication Technician at Thrive at Green Island, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive exceptional care while maintaining their independence and dignity. You bring comfort, confidence, and peace of mind—every medication pass is an opportunity to build trust, provide reassurance, and make someone's day a little brighter.

Responsibilities

  • Safely administer medications while following the 7 Rights of Medication Administration
  • Accurately document medications using our Electronic Medication Administration Record (eMAR) system
  • Observe residents for medication effectiveness, side effects, or changes in condition and promptly report concerns to the nurse
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility as needed
  • Monitor and document vital signs as assigned
  • Support residents during meals, hydration, and daily routines
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the clinical team
  • Create meaningful relationships with residents and families through compassionate, respectful care
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
  • Follow all Thrive policies, state regulations, and infection prevention guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, and leadership to provide outstanding resident care

Qualifications

  • Current Georgia Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and personal care
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Previous experience in assisted living, memory care, long-term care, or skilled nursing (preferred)
  • Experience caring for individuals living with dementia (preferred)
  • Experience using an electronic medication administration record (eMAR) (preferred)
