Responsibilities
- Monitor, log, and track all violations issued by regulatory agencies (DOB, FDNY, DEP, HPD, etc.) across the portfolio
- Maintain a centralized violations database with real-time status updates, deadlines, and supporting documentation
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Develop and execute remediation plans in coordination with property management and engineering teams
- Engage and manage third-party vendors, expeditors, and consultants to resolve violations efficiently
- Work closely with Property Managers, Chief Engineers, Legal, and Construction
- Ensure all corrective work meets regulatory and Class A building standards
- Interpret local laws, codes, and compliance requirements applicable to commercial properties
- Proactively identify potential compliance risks and implement preventative measures
- Stay current on changes in regulations and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders
- Cook up and execute inspections, hearings, and re-inspections as required
- Prepare and submit necessary documentation, permits, and certifications to clear violations
- Provide regular reporting on violation status, aging, trends, and risk exposure
- Aid in budgeting and forecasting for remediation-related expenses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in commercial property management, compliance, or construction
- Strong knowledge of NYC regulatory agencies and building codes (or relevant jurisdiction)
- Experience managing violations lifecycle and remediation processes
- Proficiency in Yardi or similar systems is a plus
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assets simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
