Responsibilities

• Monitor, log, and track all violations issued by regulatory agencies (DOB, FDNY, DEP, HPD, etc.) across the portfolio
• Maintain a centralized violations database with real-time status updates, deadlines, and supporting documentation
• Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and completeness
• Develop and execute remediation plans in coordination with property management and engineering teams
• Engage and manage third-party vendors, expeditors, and consultants to resolve violations efficiently
• Work closely with Property Managers, Chief Engineers, Legal, and Construction
• Ensure all corrective work meets regulatory and Class A building standards
• Interpret local laws, codes, and compliance requirements applicable to commercial properties
• Proactively identify potential compliance risks and implement preventative measures
• Stay current on changes in regulations and communicate impacts to internal stakeholders
• Cook up and execute inspections, hearings, and re-inspections as required
• Prepare and submit necessary documentation, permits, and certifications to clear violations
• Provide regular reporting on violation status, aging, trends, and risk exposure
• Aid in budgeting and forecasting for remediation-related expenses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience in commercial property management, compliance, or construction
• Strong knowledge of NYC regulatory agencies and building codes (or relevant jurisdiction)
• Experience managing violations lifecycle and remediation processes
• Proficiency in Yardi or similar systems is a plus
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple assets simultaneously
• Detail-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
