Expeditor 2nd Shift

About the role

Facilitates and expedites the flow of materials to and from various departments. Deals directly with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods to appropriate locations. Inspects goods upon delivery to verify delivered goods match order specifications. Handles any delivery inconsistencies or delays.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and recognize tooling that needs to be repaired, replaced, or revised.
• Conduct machine scheduled walk-throughs to verify all planned items are at the machines; pull, inspect, and return all other tooling to proper locations.
• Pull a printing plate backlog once per shift; inspect and stage items that meet requirements.
• Perform pre/post inspection of cutting dies; pre-inspect and tag cutting dies once per shift.
• Pull and put away cutting dies as returned from machines; assist with large or heavy dies as needed.
• Notify Tooling Coordinator of dies or plates requiring modification, repair, or replacement; update Superintendent and Supervisors on tooling status ("In-House Repair" or "Outside Repair").
• Manage all tooling purchase orders (POs) and monthly tooling spreadsheets.
• Check in all incoming print plates; assign print plate and cutting die numbers from the Print or Cutting Die Log Book.
• Maintain die spreadsheets; assign locations to all print plates and enter into HRMS.
• Attach and deliver all supporting documentation to the die room.
• Manage all outgoing tooling; order tooling and supplies as needed.
• Scan print cards and CADs into the system, if applicable.
• Obtain quotes for tooling when needed.
• Handle all tooling bill of ladings for outgoing shipments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience in the corrugated industry (preferred).
• 6 months experience in the Press or Finishing Department (preferred).
• Ability to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
• Proficiency in reading a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate; apply high school math concepts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Working knowledge of:
  • Equipment design and capabilities for efficient operation.
  • Product layouts and production specifications.
  • Product quality specifications and quality standards.
• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, or hear.
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to sit.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
• Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
