About the role
Your ideas and efforts directly shape the places where you and your community live, work, and play. This newly created opportunity for an experienced Exhibition Developer – Content joins the Museum, Archives, Libraries and Learning (MALL) Service Unit.
Responsibilities
- Research, develop and create original content that brings historical and contemporary Newcastle stories to life through large-scale, complex and temporary exhibitions.
- Engage with MALL’s cultural collections and the community to uncover, shape and share stories that connect with diverse audiences.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, as well as Newcastle’s diverse community, to deliver engaging and successful exhibition projects.
Requirements
- Experience in developing and delivering exhibitions.
- Exceptional storytelling skills.
- Knowledge of cultural collections and community engagement.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in History, Archaeology, Cultural Studies, or a related field.
- Proven experience in exhibition development and curation.
- Experience working with cultural collections and community engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
$119,790.13 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week.
Schedule
35-hour working week with flexible/hybrid work arrangements/model as well as an optional 9-day fortnight.
