Exhibit Detailer
About the role
As an Exhibit Detailer at Deckel & Moneypenny, you'll play a key role in translating conceptual exhibit designs into detailed, buildable technical drawings. Working closely with our design, production, and client management teams, you'll create accurate 3D models and 2D construction drawings that support fabrication and on-site execution of custom brand environments for trade shows and permanent installations. You will also be responsible for preparing the final drawing packages used to guide both the installation and dismantle process, ensuring clarity and accuracy at every stage of execution. We're looking for a skilled detailer with a meticulous eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for problem solving. This is a highly collaborative and technical role ideal for individuals who take pride in precision and love turning big ideas into buildable realities.
Responsibilities
- Translate design concepts into clear, accurate 3D models and detailed 2D construction/setup drawings.
- Prepare drawings to support production, service ordering, and the final install & dismantle of exhibits.
- Collaborate closely with designers, client managers, and fabricators to ensure buildability and design intent.
- Interpret show plans, client briefs, design documents, product and material specifications to guide detailing work.
- Identify and solve potential fabrication challenges in the detailing process.
- Apply and maintain company drawing standards and best practices.
- Work within project timelines to meet critical deadlines and support production schedules.
- Use Vectorworks as the primary drafting software (training provided if needed).
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of professional experience in detailing, CAD drafting, or technical design for fabrication.
- Proficiency in Vectorworks (preferred), or similar 3D/CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SketchUp, SolidWorks, etc.
- Strong understanding of construction or carpentry processes and materials.
- Experience preparing shop drawings, install drawings, and detailed drawing sets.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, sketches, and design references.
- High level of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to collaborate across departments.
