Exercise Specialist in Grand Island New York

About the role

This is a part-time position working out of our Grand Island Fitness Facility.

Schedule

Mondays and Wednesdays from 5-8pm, Fridays from 10:30am-6pm.

Responsibilities

• Effectively and enthusiastically provide MOG services to members, patients, and clients.
• Conduct member evaluations.
• Develop and update exercise prescriptions.
• Provide manual stretch, percussion gun, and compression pump services.
• Deliver personal training and nutrition services.
• Offer medical member (1v1) services.
• Provide safe, effective, and engaging class instruction.
• Enter all data appropriately into software systems and track members properly.
• Build relationships with clientele to achieve specific business goals.
• Assist with revenue generation to achieve specific business goals.
• Report monthly metrics and prepare monthly reports for membership retention, including:
  • Monthly metrics: transitions, quarterly evals, med-fits.
  • Monthly reports: expirations, renewals, MIA’s, member evaluations.
• Handle day-to-day member issues and concerns.
• Participate and engage in staff meetings.
• Assist teammates in community outreach events, health promotion projects, and student internships.

Reports to the Fitness Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a closely related field is required.
• Current certification in CPR/AED (hands-on program required) and First Aid.
• Personal Training certification from a nationally recognized, accredited organization (e.g., ACSM, NASM, NSCA) is preferred.
• Group Exercise Primary certification from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., AFFA, ACE, NASM) is preferred.

Candidates should have leadership qualities, be passionate about fitness, hard-working, able to solve problems, and take initiative. They must hold credentials that qualify them to work with both medically compromised and non-medically compromised individuals.
