About the Role

Complies with established policies, procedures, and standards regarding quality, customer satisfaction, positive work environment, and financial stewardship. Responsible for maintaining high standards in clinical practice/continuum of care, professional practice development, teamwork, customer relations, and research/performance improvement for a caseload of patients as described by scopes of care in area of practice.

Shares responsibility with other Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation professionals for the day-to-day operation of the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program. Works in a multifaceted role with other Cardiopulmonary professionals to ensure all patients receive quality education and exercise in all phases and programs within the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individual participant assessments and evaluations in collaboration with a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Shares responsibility in planning and evaluating patient care and providing education to Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation patients and families.
  • Collaborates with other Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation professionals for all phases of rehabilitation, including documentation of participants’ exercise progress, preparation of reports, quality/performance improvement measures, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Works collaboratively to implement and update each participant’s exercise prescription and evaluates their progress toward mutually identifiable goals.

  • Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.
  • Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to ensure a positive patient care experience.
  • Adheres to infection prevention policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities and maintains compliance with organizational policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service through attitude and actions, consistent with the organization’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
  • Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards or other accrediting bodies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology, Biology, or a Health-related field (required).
  • BLS Certification (required).
  • ACLS Certified within 6 months of hire (required).
  • ACSM certification (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of job-related experience (required).
  • Six months of experience in a Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation setting (preferred).

Schedule

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, 36 hours per week.
