Exercise Physiologist Part Time

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is a 193-bed acute care teaching hospital sponsoring nine university-affiliated residency programs. Opened in 1961, it joined Corewell Health in September 2014. The hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical care, including all private beds, a medical and surgical intensive care unit, and obstetrical care.

Cardiac Rehabilitation at Corewell Health in Farmington Hills is a leading healthcare institution dedicated to helping patients recover and improve their heart health. Located at 28050 Grand River Avenue in Farmington Hills, Michigan, this facility offers comprehensive rehabilitation programs with a team of experienced professionals, state-of-the-art facilities, and personalized treatment plans.

Responsibilities

• Provides all aspects of phases I – III cardiac rehabilitation.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates exercise prescriptions and sessions for all phases of cardio/pulmonary rehab and other chronic illnesses.
• Creates educational materials and provides education for cardio/pulmonary patients and other referred patients.
• Plans and participates in special patient events, research, professional conferences, student internship programs, and departmental improvement initiatives.
• Manages care for Phase II patients in an effective, timely, and inspirational manner.
• Supervises cardiovascular stress tests for individuals with and without chronic disease.
• Provides services such as Enhanced External Counterpulsation (EECP) and holter/event monitor placement.
• Participates in specialized programmatic service lines (e.g., Cardiovascular Performance Clinic, cardiac rehab referral intake, marketing).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or a related field (required).
• Master’s Degree (preferred).
• 2 years of relevant experience (required).
• A minimum 2 years’ experience or successful completion of a 600-hour clinical internship in the cardiac rehab setting (may be required depending on location).
• Current BLS Certification (required upon hire).
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred; may be required at specific sites).
• ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist or AACVPR Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (required within 1 year of employment).
