Exercise Instructor
About the role
Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD) is a leading community clinic provider dedicated to providing high-quality health care and supportive services to everyone, with a special focus on uninsured, low-income individuals. With over 90 sites across San Diego County, FHCSD operates numerous clinics offering a wide array of services including primary care, behavioral health, dental, vision, and specialized care such as cardiology and podiatry.
Responsibilities
- Ensures each participant signs a waiver/release form upon starting the exercise series.
- Maintains project coordinator and other staff informed on any problems or concerns related to exercise instruction.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the project coordinator or the clinic director.
- Provides cardiovascular and yoga exercise classes to program participants.
- Keeps required logs of class attendance and submits to project coordinator on a monthly basis.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, preferred with exercise and fitness certification.
- Minimum 1 year experience leading exercise group sessions.
- Experience leading cardiovascular and yoga exercise group sessions.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Traveling between sites and other locations is required as an essential function of the job.
- Must have a car, valid California driver’s license, and proof of minimum levels of car insurance as required under California law.
- An acceptable driving record is required.
- California law requires all drivers to obtain a valid California driver’s license within ten days of establishing residency.
- Mileage and other reimbursement governed by policy.
