Exempt to Permanent – Materials Coordinator (1944) - Citywide (168378)

City and County of San Francisco · San Francisco, CA · 1 mo ago
PurchasingFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? Actually we have company description, job description, essential functions, qualifications, selection procedures, etc. We must not repeat job title as heading. Use

for section headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. We need to include sections only when posting has real specific content. We have no explicit Pay, Schedule, Benefits. There's mention of Employee Benefits Overview but no specifics. So we should not create Benefits section unless specifics given. No Pay or Schedule given. So we can have sections: About the role (maybe from Company Description and Job Description?), Responsibilities (Essential Functions), Requirements (Qualifications), maybe Skills? Not explicit. Could combine Qualifications and Requirements. Use

for each. We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent. Remove boilerplate like EEO, etc. Also remove application instructions, navigation, cookie, legal, etc. Also remove duplicated lines. We need to include metadata like Application Opening, Deadline, Recruitment ID maybe as short

. Not as heading. We need to output only HTML fragment. Let's extract substantive content: Company Description: "THIS IS A CITYWIDE RECRUITMENT FOR CURRENT CITY EMPLOYEES ONLY. This is an Exempt to Permanent recruitment in accordance with Class-Based Test (CBT) Civil Service Rules. This recruitment is only open to current exempt employees of the City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco Unified School District, or San Francisco City College, working within the 1944 Materials Coordinator classification." Then description of city: "ABOUT THE CITY AND COUNTY OF SAN FRANCISCO: San Francisco is a vibrant and dynamic city, on the forefront of economic growth & innovation, urban development, arts & entertainment, as well as social issues & change. This rich tapestry of culture and ideas is sustained by our City's commitment to heighten the quality of life for the diverse population of San Franciscans and residents of the greater Bay Area. Our employees play an important role not only in making our City what it is today, but also in shaping the future of San Francisco." Application Opening: September 23, 2026 Application Deadline: September 30, 2026 Recruitment ID: ETP-1944-168378 Job Description: "Under general direction, organizes, coordinates, and analyzes needs related to the planning, acquisition and distribution of materials and equipment in a large department; develops materials planning and control systems; coordinates materials management activities including inventory control and interdepartmental improvements with the Purchasing Department as necessary; and performs related duties as required." Essential Functions list (multiple bullet-like sentences). We'll turn into

  • . Qualifications: Must be a Current Category 16, 17, or 18 Exempt Employee in Class 1944 who has worked at least 2,080 hours in Class 1944 with no break in service; AND Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business or public administration, economics, industrial engineering or a related field; AND Experience: Five years of verifiable experience planning, developing, implementing, and administering materials management systems. Such experience must have included cost analysis, budget preparation, management of automated inventory control systems as well as a minimum of three years supervising personnel engaged in inventory management, physical distribution or purchasing activities. Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis. Verification of Experience and/or Education: ... (some procedural). Might be considered part of qualifications but we can include as part of Requirements. Selection Procedures: details about application, preliminary questionnaire, scoring, eligible list, etc. Might be considered part of process but not required headings. Could include as a section maybe "Selection Process". But only allowed headings are those listed; we could use "Requirements" for qualifications, "Responsibilities" for essential functions, "About the role" for job description and company description. Could also include "Qualifications" as separate heading but we already have Requirements. The instruction says use headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. So we can use multiple of those if content exists. We have content for About the role (company + job description), Responsibilities (essential functions), Requirements (qualifications). Could also have Qualifications separate but maybe redundant. We'll stick to three sections. We need to preserve all substantive information, not invent. So include details from selection procedures? Might be considered part of process but not under those headings. Could we add a section "Selection Process"? Not allowed headings list; but we could maybe put under Requirements? Might be okay to include as a

    after sections. The instruction: "Use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It says e.g., implying those are examples but we could use other headings? Probably safer to stick to those. Additional info like selection procedures could be placed in a

without heading after the sections, as it's still substantive. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So we can have three sections and then a

for selection process details. We must not include boilerplate like EEO, etc. Remove lines about Conviction History, Employee Benefits Overview, Equal Employment Opportunity, etc. Also remove "Additional Information" etc. Let's craft HTML:
