About the role

As the Executive Vice President, Business Insurance Practice Leader, you will provide vision and strategic direction for the St. Louis and Overland Park Business Insurance division, driving sustained growth for the benefit of clients, colleagues, and the organization. This leader develops, defines, and executes short- and long-term strategies for the division and is accountable for achieving strategic objectives through strong leadership, talent development, operational oversight, market and marketing effectiveness, and revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the Business Insurance practice to drive profitable growth and achieve agency and departmental objectives.
  • Champions the MMA sales process and Accelerate methodology across the division.
  • Fosters innovation, collaboration, and resource sharing to improve client outcomes and business performance.
  • Tracks and communicates trends in new, lost, and renewal business to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Partners with leadership to assess priorities, set direction, and execute key initiatives.
  • Leads Business Insurance Sales, Operations, and market segment leaders in advancing profitability, operational excellence, and superior client service.
  • Establishes annual sales goals, performance metrics, and financial targets in partnership with Sales Leaders, division directors, and executive leadership.
  • Oversees pipeline development, forecasting, and producer performance to support sustained growth.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in the business insurance industry, including experience in a broker/agency or carrier environment, preferably with a portion of that experience in a sales role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the business insurance marketplace and demonstrated ability to lead the application of technology solutions.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior executives, develop and secure support for a vision, and operate effectively under pressure.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strategic perspective to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with insurance carriers.
