Executive/Sr. Executive-Training Division
About the organization
The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India by addressing limited institutional and systems capacity through strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology, and facilitating policy and practice in public health. Headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research, PHFI was established in 2006 as a public–private initiative governed by an independent board of senior government officials, eminent academics, civil society representatives, and corporate leaders.
About the project
Diabetes is one of the fastest‑growing global health emergencies. India had 74.1 million people with diabetes in 2021, projected to reach 124.8 million by 2045, imposing substantial economic burden on individuals, families, and health systems. Since 2010, PHFI’s Training Division has run the nationwide Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) in collaboration with Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy (DMDEA). The 11‑module course delivers once‑a‑month weekend training to enhance the knowledge, skills, and core competencies of primary care physicians in diabetes management.
