About the role

KSNV is seeking an Executive Producer to oversee news content for fairness, balance, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will produce daily newscasts and manage the production of newscasts and special programming. This role involves working closely with producers, reporters, and editors to select and cover daily news.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily newscasts to ensure they serve local communities by sharing relevant information to alert, protect, and empower audiences.
  • Supervise producers and reporters, reviewing scripts and providing feedback to encourage powerful storytelling.
  • Manage the newsroom and handle breaking news situations to empower and grow our audiences.
  • Collaborate with News Directors and other station managers to create special segments.
  • Plan and oversee continuity into upcoming newscasts.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms.
  • Experience managing breaking news and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Able to identify problems and provide solutions.
  • A strong commitment to journalistic standards and ethics.
  • Extraordinary people skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating.
  • A strong understanding of how to drive digital traffic.
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience producing in a television news environment or equivalent.
  • A college degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong writing skills and a proven track record for getting results on initiatives.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required for special events or breaking news.
