About the role

As a member of our team, you won't just work for the city; you’ll co-create it. A rare and exciting career opportunity exists for a highly experienced and proactive Executive Operations Officer to join the CEO Office at City of Newcastle (CN).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a diverse range of high-level administration duties and operational support for the CEO Office.
  • Support the Executive Office team by managing issues, coordinating priorities, and contributing to the smooth operation of the CEO Office.
  • Act as an interface between the CEO’s Office, CN staff, and a broad range of stakeholders including senior leaders, Councillors, and external parties.
  • Provide exceptional customer service through sound judgment and a proactive approach.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in executive level administrative support.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in executive level administrative support.

Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$99,000.17 + 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment + 12% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week.

Schedule

35-hour working week with flexible working arrangements including an optional 9-day fortnight.
