The Office of the County Executive has an exciting opportunity for an Executive Office Receptionist. This in-person role serves as the first point of contact for all visitors to the Executive’s Office, providing excellent service to constituents and supporting administrative tasks.

About the role

  • Serves as the first point of contact for all visitors to the Executive’s Office.
  • Provides administrative support to Executive Office staff.
  • Reviews mail and responds to routine inquiries by phone, email or in person.
  • Supports meeting and event logistics.
  • Maintains contact lists.
  • Ensures strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Manages competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receptionist and general office duties.
  • Provide administrative support to Executive Office staff.
  • Conform to the County Finance Policy and Procedures Manual, Human Resources policies, and the Administrative Guidelines for Career Service.

Requirements

  • Average one year of general clerical experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Teams.
  • Clear written communication skills demonstrating proficiency in spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements of the position.

Qualifications

  • Additional education or related experience may substitute for the recruiting requirements.
  • A resume and a cover letter is required.

  • Familiarity with the County's various departments and branches of government.
  • Familiarity with senior level leaders and elected officials.
