Purpose
Australian Naval Infrastructure is seeking to appoint an Executive General Manager, Commercial to support the delivery of ANI’s nuclear-powered submarine construction yard (NPSCY). The EGM, Commercial will collaborate with the CEO and NPSCY Program Director to structure and lead major transactions, including the appointment of a Capability Partner to supplement the skills and resources of the NPSCY Integrated Delivery Office (IDO) and the construction partners who will deliver the facilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial expertise and leadership for the delivery of this multi-billion dollar project
- Work with ANI’s capability partner to segment and prepare construction packages for the market
- Establish and implement a wide range of significant contracts critical to the success of the program
- Manage relationships with the Board and key stakeholders
- Develop, negotiate, and implement commercial strategies for ANI’s existing operations at the Osborne Naval Shipyard together with the NPSCY project
Requirements
- Extensive senior leadership experience within infrastructure, contracting, or construction sectors
- Proven track record in managing end-to-end commercial and procurement functions for complex mega projects
- Successfully led high-value contract negotiations
- Strong grasp of legal frameworks and risk allocation principles
- Experience in complex, regulated settings
- Ability to drive alignment with strategic objectives through accountability and collaboration
- High emotional intelligence and superior interpersonal skills
- Collaborative nature, relationship focus, and strong understanding of risk-based decision making
- Attention to detail with the tolerance and agility to work in an ambiguous and evolving environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law, Project Management, Engineering, or related discipline
- Potentially an MBA
- Eligibility for an NV1 security clearance
