Executive Director, Sanitation Foundation

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Chair and Foundation Board in shaping and executing the Foundation’s strategic vision and priorities.
  • Supervise staff, providing clear direction, professional development, and accountability.
  • Represent, cultivate, and maintain collaborative partnerships with city agencies, community and government leaders, corporations, foundations, other nonprofit institutions, and the public.
  • Lead on the design and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to ensure financial sustainability and growth of the Foundation.
  • Build and steward relationships with major donors, corporate sponsors, and institutional funders with a focus on major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and institutional support.
  • Identify and cultivate future transformational funding opportunities.
  • Serve as the operational backbone of the Foundation, overseeing finance, HR, IT, and administration to ensure operational efficiency and fiscal accountability.
  • Manage budgets, financial reporting, audits, and compliance with nonprofit regulations.
  • Implement effective systems and processes that support program execution and organizational growth.

Qualifications

  • A master's degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field, and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area.
  • Eight to ten years of progressively responsible nonprofit leadership experience, with demonstrated success in fundraising and development.
  • Proven track record in cultivating and securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, and institutional support.
  • Strong operational and administrative management skills, with experience overseeing budgets and teams.
  • Exceptional communicator and relationship-builder.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred but not required.

Benefits

  • $150,000.00 – $175,000.00
