Executive Director of Shelter Operations

About the role

The Director of Operations for Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals (FAUNA) oversees the Edwina & Sam Friedman Animal Adoption & Welfare Center. Key responsibilities include managing daily operations, caring for all animals, and reporting to the FAUNA Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Edwina & Sam Friedman Animal Adoption & Welfare Center and its grounds.
• Ensure the care of all animals, both medical and non-medical.
• Develop and maintain a budget and use data to make informed decisions.
• Directly supervise the Kennel Director and Animal Caretakers.
• Work closely with the FAUNA Board of Directors, FAUNA Advisory Board, and staff to support FAUNA’s mission.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as animal science, business administration, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in animal shelter management or a similar field.
• Proven leadership and management experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and community partners.
