About the Role

The Iowa State University Foundation seeks an accomplished fundraising leader to serve as Executive Director of Development for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. This role partners closely with the Dean and Foundation leadership to provide strategic direction for the College's comprehensive fundraising program, lead a talented development team, and advance major and principal gift philanthropy in support of one of the University's most influential academic units.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the College's comprehensive fundraising strategy and development team.
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the Dean and academic leadership.
  • Cultivate and solicit major, leadership, and principal gifts from a portfolio of 50–75 donors and prospects.
  • Partner across the Foundation and University to advance institutional priorities.
  • Mentor and develop fundraising professionals while driving team performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight years of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in higher education fundraising preferred.
  • At least four years managing professional fundraising staff.
  • Demonstrated success cultivating and securing major philanthropic gifts.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and relationship-building abilities.
