About the role
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and strategic leader of SchoolCare and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The Executive Director is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, financial stewardship, operational leadership, and external representation.
Responsibilities
- Understand and balance the interests of employers, employees, and taxpayers
- Lead the organization towards achieving its strategic goals
- Ensure the long-term sustainability of SchoolCare
- Work closely with members, policymakers, industry partners, and vendors to support SchoolCare’s mission and strategic priorities
- Manage a staff of ten professionals
Requirements
This role requires a leader who understands the importance of collaborative governance and consensus building.
Qualifications
- Strategic, collaborative, and mission-driven leadership experience
- Experience in public sector management and labor relations
- Strong financial management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders
