About the role

The nation's most innovative university seeks an experienced and visionary marketing and communications leader to serve as the Executive Director, Marketing and Communications at the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. This position will oversee integrated planning and strategy to support the college during a pivotal moment in its evolution. The Executive Director functions as a "growth officer" for the college, bringing degree and non-degree concepts to market to drive both impact and growth of enrollment and revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee integrated marketing and communications strategies to support the college's strategic goals
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote degree and non-degree programs
  • Manage external communications to enhance the college's reputation and visibility
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to ensure alignment on messaging and branding
  • Lead the development and execution of enrollment marketing initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze marketing metrics to inform decision-making and optimize performance
  • Work closely with the Dean and other senior leadership to align marketing efforts with institutional priorities

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and growing marketing and communications departments
  • Experience in higher education marketing is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media platforms
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with budget management and resource allocation

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
