About the role

The Munchausen Support Foundation is seeking an Executive Director to lead the organization through its next phase of expansion. The role involves overseeing programs, financial growth, fundraising strategy, remote operations, consultants, and volunteer engagement to strengthen and expand the Foundation’s impact.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee programs, financial growth, fundraising strategy, remote operations, consultants, and volunteer engagement
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to develop and execute strategic and operational plans
  • Supervise volunteers, board members, and paid consultants
  • Ensure strong daily operations and full legal, ethical, and regulatory compliance
  • Support founders and board members as public representatives of the organization
  • Strengthen brand awareness through multimedia and digital communications
  • Deepen relationships with partners, donors, healthcare professionals, and institutional stakeholders
  • Lead annual fundraising strategy, manage the Foundation’s budget, support long-term financial sustainability, and partner with the Board Treasurer to provide clear financial reporting to the Board and key stakeholders

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree and at least three to five years of senior-level nonprofit management experience
  • Strong commitment to the mission of the Munchausen Support Foundation
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and trauma-informed sensitivity
  • The ability to communicate complex medical and social issues with clarity to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to build trust with survivors, families, peer facilitators, medical and academic professionals
  • Success in donor cultivation, fundraising, grant writing, financial management, budgeting, governance, and strategic planning
  • The initiative to thrive in a fully remote environment and the flexibility to travel for conferences, Foundation-related meetings, and donor engagement
