Serenades at West Orange, an AgeWell Solvere Living managed community in Winter Garden, FL (14 minutes west of downtown Orlando), is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our Memory Care community. We prioritize resident wellbeing and deliver excellent care and customer service in a premier work atmosphere.
Purpose
The Executive Director oversees day-to-day operations and occupancy, including financial management, business planning, program services, staff management, and high-quality service delivery to residents and families. They proactively communicate any potential threats to the community and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and AgeWell Solvere Living policies.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ongoing compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting body standards.
- Prepare the community for regulatory inspections through audits, policy updates, medical record documentation, and environmental monitoring.
- Maintain monthly financial reports and explain variances.
- Oversee departmental budgets and guide department heads on budgetary guidelines.
- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
- Implement systems to monitor quality of care, service delivery, and regulatory compliance; address variances in quality indicators.
- Optimize revenue and ancillary revenue opportunities.
- Maintain and increase occupancy in line with budget goals.
- Promote staff participation in day-to-day operations and decision-making.
- Lead team-building efforts through staff meetings.
- Provide ongoing support, direction, supervision, and performance feedback to staff.
- Ensure staff are informed to address questions from residents, families, and prospective residents.
- Oversee recruitment, hiring, employee relations, and separations in accordance with policy.
- Maintain proper staff files and coordinate the evaluation process.
- Manage the disciplinary process community-wide.
- Lead the management team in alignment with the organization’s mission and values.
- Ensure high-quality services tailored to resident needs and preferences.
- Protect and educate staff, residents, and families about resident rights.
- Coordinate with the Wellness Director on move-in processes, leases, and Resident Service Plans.
- Respond promptly to requests from families, residents, and team members.
- Act as a liaison between management, residents, and families.
- Maintain competitive market analysis and detailed competitor comparisons (rates, unit sizes, services, amenities).
- Ensure timely and accurate use of Vitals within the community.
- Maintain a positive first impression of the community and resolve presentation issues.
- Maximize occupancy levels and collaborate with department heads on sales and marketing efforts.
- Assign Manager on Duty for weekend coverage.
- Represent the community in public settings and promote it within the local area.
- Ensure timely and accurate use of Sherpa for sales and marketing.
- Generate leads and assist in closing sales.
- Enforce OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
- Ensure full compliance with all laws and regulations for assisted living facilities.
- Follow emergency procedures and understand safety policies.
- Investigate and review all on-site injuries.
Requirements
- State-required licensing and certification (if applicable).
- Excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Experience working with seniors.
- Experience operating and maintaining a customer-focused senior living environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Meets all state regulatory requirements for licensed assisted living communities.
- Demonstrated integrity and leadership skills.
- Passion for working with the senior population.
- Ability to promote the community positively and communicate company values.
- Physical ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 40-50 pounds if necessary.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Spends at least 30% of time traveling to referral sources in the market area.
