About the Role
The Executive Director, Digital Systems IT Product Management is responsible for the strategy, innovation, governance, and value realization of Labcorp's digital platform systems portfolio. This executive leader partners across business, engineering, data, artificial intelligence, user experience, and commercial organizations to develop scalable digital platforms that support customer experiences, operational excellence, and enterprise growth. The role drives multi-year digital product strategies, advances AI-enabled product management practices, oversees enterprise digital portfolios, and ensures technology investments deliver measurable business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Creates and executes the enterprise-wide digital product strategy and vision for the digital platform systems portfolio; owns long-term roadmap and alignment with corporate goals.
- Fosters innovation in developing market-differentiated digital products for digital platform systems users that seamlessly integrate and address specific needs.
- Establishes and manages the digital platform systems portfolio roadmap, prioritizing feature capabilities that enhance user experience.
- Builds strong relationships with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, UX design, business owners, marketing) to ensure alignment on product strategy.
- Serves as the final authority on product prioritization, funding, and go-to-market strategy across portfolios.
- Collaborates to create, develop, and deliver digital products that support business objectives and customer needs while aligning with IT’s financial plan.
- Represents the organization in external forums, partnerships, and industry events; drives thought leadership.
- Identifies, evaluates, and adopts AI, automation, and advanced analytics capabilities to accelerate innovation, enhance customer experiences, improve operational performance, and create new business value.
- Discovers and validates market problems (both existing and future customers) using an outside-in approach.
- Seeks new market opportunities by leveraging Labcorp’s distinctive scientific and technology expertise.
- Provides leadership oversight of strategic, technical, and marketing aspects of all products in the portfolio.
- Oversees end-to-end lifecycle from discovery through commercialization; ensures platform scalability, reliability, and secure-by-design principles; drives best-in-class user experience.
- Sponsors cross-functional change initiatives and enterprise transformations; aligns with IT, Marketing, and business domains; drives go-to-market strategy.
- Oversees digital platform systems product portfolios and ensures cross-functional integration.
- Properly positions the digital platform systems portfolio for all markets and applicable user segments; drives adoption across all user segments.
- Ensures global compliance with industry standards and regulations including HIPAA, GDPR, PHI, etc.
- Develops solutions that achieve the defined vision and deliver desired functionality, best-in-class user experience, and overall brand awareness.
- Achieves positive return on technology investments based on fact-based metrics.
- Drives adoption of AI-enabled product management and engineering practices to accelerate product discovery, development, testing, and delivery.
- Ensures AI-enabled products and capabilities are developed and deployed responsibly, with appropriate governance, privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
- Recruits, leads, coaches, and develops a diverse, high-performing, cross-functional product team comprised of product owners/managers and UX designers.
- Builds diverse, high-performing teams; champions inclusion, engagement, and succession; mentors senior leaders and cultivates a growth mindset.
- Fosters a culture that encourages collaboration, innovation, delivery, and continuous improvement.
- Invests in professional development to ensure the team stays current with evolving product management disciplines, methodologies, and technologies.
- Creates and fosters collaborative relationships with senior executive leaders in IT, Marketing, and various business domains focused on provider and health systems segments.
- Builds organizational capability in AI, automation, and emerging technologies by fostering continuous learning, experimentation, and adoption of innovative digital practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, life sciences, regulated technology platforms, digital product management, digital transformation, or related technology environments.
- 10+ years of experience leading large-scale digital transformation, platform modernization, data-driven products, or enterprise technology initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience leading product management teams, digital product organizations, technology portfolios, or related functions.
- 3+ years of experience identifying, evaluating, implementing, or scaling artificial intelligence, automation, advanced analytics, or related technology solutions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare, life sciences, regulated technology platforms, digital product management, or digital transformation (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience supporting digital healthcare platforms, health systems, clinical technology, patient-facing applications, or healthcare data solutions (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience leading enterprise AI, machine learning, automation, or advanced analytics initiatives (preferred).
- 3+ years of experience leading enterprise change management, organizational transformation, or technology modernization programs (preferred).
Skills

- Strong verbal, written, presentation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence, collaborate, and build trust across executive and cross-functional teams.

Schedule
This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.
Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule, including a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location (Burlington or Durham).
Pay
Pay Range: $225,000–$300,000. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
