About the role
Directs and oversees a central major gifts program and a team of central development officers.
Responsibilities
- Creates and implements a strategic operating plan for the major gifts program for the UH Office of Development.
- Identifies prospects, facilitates and coordinates cultivation and solicitation strategies, and delivers effective stewardship for central assignments.
- Identifies and conducts exploratory visits with potential major gift donors.
- Manages special fundraising projects as assigned.
- Serves as a resource for the university regarding successful major giving activities, techniques and methods.
- Recruits and manages a volunteer leadership structure to assist with major gift solicitation and overall development strategies and direction.
- Administers the department's budget and personnel.
Requirements
- Thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline.
- Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
