About Us
Our students write articles, host podcasts, and sponsor events—we even wrote a book! At OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (ONC), we keep things civil at all times. Republicans, Democrats, Independents—all are welcome. In our conversations, we always strive to answer the question, "What do we want to DO about this?" By focusing on solutions, we rise above the "blame game" that has become so stale in our country. Our goal is to make ONC a household name—a trusted source of fair, accurate, and balanced information about politics and public policy.
Young people are inheriting a troubled world. At ONC, we develop America’s future leaders, equipping them with the skills they’ll need as they take it from here. Over 900 interns from across the U.S. have participated so far, guided by experienced mentors. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, mostly run by students—writers, coders, video producers, social media managers, fundraisers, and more. We operate completely virtually, and currently, nobody is paid.

About the Role
This is a volunteer role to start, with an expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week. The goal is to provide adult supervision and support to our team of student interns, who currently contribute around 5 hours per week each. With intern turnover at the end of each semester (about 20 of 65 interns leave), there’s a need for consistent guidance to help new interns get up to speed.
We’re looking for help to institutionalize ONC, raise funds, and eventually transition to a paid team—including compensating interns. Once funding is secured, we plan to hire an Executive Director and other key roles. We offer a 10% success fee to those who help raise money for the organization.
You’ll work closely with Jeff Hall, Editor & CEO, to turn exciting projects into reality. Responsibilities include mentoring students, providing ongoing encouragement, and helping scale operations to take ONC to the next level.
