About the role
The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and day-to-day administration of the Police Retirement System while serving as the primary advisor to the Board of Trustees. The position oversees financial operations, personnel, governance, compliance, and organizational administration to ensure efficient and effective delivery of retirement services.
The Police Retirement System of St. Louis serves members of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and plays a vital role in protecting the retirement security of the men and women who have dedicated their careers to public safety. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day administration of the Police Retirement System
- Serve as the primary advisor to the Board of Trustees
- Oversee financial operations, personnel, governance, compliance, and organizational administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or a related field
- Significant progressively responsible executive leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, personnel, and organizational operations
- Experience working with governing boards or elected/appointed governing bodies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, or related discipline
- Experience administering a public pension system or retirement organization
- Experience overseeing investments or fiduciary responsibilities
- Knowledge of public sector finance, municipal organizations, or retirement system administration
- Legal or governmental experience
