Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary spokesperson and ambassador for MCAAC, promoting its mission and programs.
• Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and organizational goals.
• Maintain a strong working relationship with the Board of Directors, with regular communication and coordination with the Board President to ensure alignment on organizational priorities, governance, and strategic implementation.
• Provide timely, accurate reports and recommendations to support informed Board decision-making.
• Oversee all shelter operations, including animal care standards, safety protocols, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure implementation of best practices in animal welfare and customer service.
• Direct staff and volunteer management, including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance evaluation.
• Maintain organizational continuity and ensure effective day-to-day operations.
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget in collaboration with the Board Treasurer.
• Monitor financial performance, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and maintain fiscal integrity.
• Oversee facility maintenance, capital planning, and major expenditures.
• Lead fundraising initiatives, including donor cultivation, grant writing, sponsorships, and major gift development.
• Develop and implement revenue strategies to support long-term organizational sustainability.
• Oversee marketing and public relations efforts to increase visibility, engagement, and community support.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, local businesses, government agencies, and media.
• Represent MCAAC at community events, conferences, and public forums.
• Promote humane education programs and advocate for animal welfare issues.
