Job Summary
Responsible for the overall management of the facility and/or Skilled Nursing Care Center, enforcing facility and corporate policies and governmental regulations. Coordinates the functions of each department, organizing the programs within the framework of the operational budget.
Essential Functions
- Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
- Directs all aspects of the facility's operations and programs.
- Develops an organizational structure for the administration of all facility programs and services.
- Prepares and recommends to the Divisional Vice President of Operations an annual facility operating budget.
- Maintains the facility in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations pertaining to the facility.
- Supervises facility department heads with appropriate delegation of responsibility.
- Approves all purchases made for the facility and makes recommendations regarding purchases where necessary.
- Keeps a fire and safety plan, disaster and casualty program and disruption of services plan updated, and holds regular drills as necessary.
- Insures a high quality of resident life at the facility through support and promotion of those programs and services that support Front Porch’s Mission Statement.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Current Retirement Care Facility Administrator's license with the California State Department of Social Services.
- Current Nursing Home Administrators License (when SNF is on Community grounds).
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university for long-term care administration or related area of health administration; and at least five years’ experience as an Administrator in continuing care and/or retirement facilities.
- Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 100 employees.
- Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
- Carrries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Writes reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively presents information and responds to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Interest in and concern for care of the elderly.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement new programs.
- Ability to develop and maintain a good working relationship with all facility personnel, residents and the community.
- Displays leadership and ability to work as part of a team.

- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Credentials: Essential: Retirement Care Facility for Elderly (RCFE) Required Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) Preferred Essential: Education with Equivalent Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree Essential: Experience with Equivalent Qualifications: 5+ Years exp as an Executive Director or Administrator in continuing care/retirement facilities 5 Years experience working in a senior community.
