About the role
Franklin Companies is seeking an experienced leader to serve as the Executive Director at Franklin Park Boerne, a beautiful Assisted Living and Memory Care community in Boerne, TX. This role is responsible for the overall management of the community, ensuring high-quality resident care services within budgetary guidelines, and compliance with federal, state, local, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement community resident relations programs; solicit feedback from residents, families, and others to maintain and improve community hospitality and services.
- Establish effective relationships with other community department heads to ensure high-quality resident care and foster inter-departmental cooperation.
- Oversee and monitor nursing services (if applicable) to ensure high-quality nursing delivery systems.
- Monitor resident care on a daily basis; conduct daily rounds; implement quality assurance programs for all departments.
- Establish positive rapport with regulatory agencies; stay updated on changes in federal, state, and local regulations.
- Oversee facility management of the community.
- Direct the community safety and loss prevention program; monitor adherence to safety rules and regulations and take remedial action when necessary.
- Contact residents' families when a change in services is needed and lead resident/family conferences to review changes.
- Ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the development of the residence's budget and make final decisions on resident move-ins and move-outs based on resident well-being and residence policies.
- Plan and develop the operating budget within company guidelines; regularly monitor department performance and analyze the community P&L status, taking corrective action as needed.
- Train community management in cost control techniques and direct/monitor community inventory control systems.
- Manage all contracted services and create the annual budget for the community.
- Maintain a high level of occupancy and provide leadership in marketing the community, including developing relationships with local referral sources.
- Represent the residence to the community, family members, and visitors, fostering positive relations.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, retention, and termination of all community employees; ensure adequate orientation and training for job-specific duties.
- Supervise and evaluate all community managers by providing ongoing coaching and timely feedback.
- Ensure all employees meet company standards of appearance, sanitation, and health.
- Establish positive employee relations programs, recognition programs, and practices.
- Oversee and manage community compensation, recommending wage increases and adjustments as necessary.
- Ensure all staff maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information.
- Provide an "open door" policy for employees and address concerns and grievances in a timely manner.
- Ensure appropriate handling of on-the-job injuries reported by employees.
- Encourage teamwork and promote company philosophy.
- Become familiar with and understand the requirements of the Life Safety Code.
Requirements
- Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language (bilingual is a plus).
- Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook software; mid-level typing skills required.
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, residents, family members, and outside contacts.
- Able to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; able to manage revenue and expense budgets.
- Knowledge of current federal and state laws pertaining to Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and Memory Care (MC) communities.
- Able to make independent decisions.
- Must possess a passion for working with and around senior citizens.
- Strong leadership skills with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in supervising and managing personnel in supervisory roles.
- Three or more years of senior living experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Able to meet the physical requirements of the position, including ambulating around the community, assisting residents, lifting, climbing, hearing, talking, and seeing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required with appropriate work experience.
- CALM certification is a plus.
