About the role

The Executive Director is responsible for taking all reasonable steps to ensure optimal quality of care is delivered to the residents. This role is accountable for the functions and activities of the entire staff, integrating these activities with all other departments contributing to resident care. The Executive Director plans and organizes systems of care, objectives, policies, procedures, staffing patterns, and staff development based on the facility's needs within the established budget while maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulatory standards.

This position reports to the CEO with fully delegated responsibility and authority to carry out day-to-day assisted living operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage annual functional budgets to ensure effective and efficient stewardship of fiscal resources.
  • Complete and submit required reports, including responses to audits and reviews, in a timely manner.
  • Develop standards of quality, clinical excellence, resident safety, resident satisfaction, and staff engagement for the personal care function.
  • Create reporting metrics on quality standards and satisfaction levels, publishing results quarterly.
  • Maintain and update knowledge of prospective changes within the Assisted Living industry in Kentucky and throughout the United States.
  • Provide ongoing and timely communication on resident status with families and/or resident support systems to promote positive and informed relationships.
  • Establish outreach and education efforts in the community to promote a better understanding of Assisted Living services.
  • Build relationships and develop referrals to drive sales opportunities by monitoring local market conditions and potential referral sources to impact lead generation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, social work, human services, business administration, public health, or a closely related field from an accredited 4-year college or university.
  • 3 years of proven management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the nonprofit sector.
  • Experience in senior living, senior housing, assisted living, and/or personal care.
  • Licensed Nursing Home Administrator.
