Executive Director

About the Role

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation of the community, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents, fostering a home where residents enjoy living, and driving the financial success of the building. This role requires expertise in finance, accounting, marketing, and human resources.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct the community’s ongoing functions.
• Operate the community to ensure company profitability by meeting budget and census guidelines.
• Monitor marketing activities to achieve 100% occupancy.
• Provide resident programs for enrichment in social interaction, entertainment, arts and crafts, physical exercise, education, religious services, and community involvement.
• Direct and monitor timely and accurate completion of all daily/weekly/monthly billings, accounting, and bookkeeping requirements.
• Assist in coordinating resident move-ins.
• Periodically review each resident's status and ability to perform under the Residency Agreement.
• Implement and maintain effective budgeting and accounting techniques, including Declining Balance sheets per department.
• Actively manage and lead the community team, including recruiting, retention, performance management, employee development, coaching, and feedback.
• Monitor the cleanliness and maintenance of the community.
• Maintain liaison among Governing Authorities, professional personnel, and staff.
• Ensure community policies and procedures reflect federal and state regulations and maintain active membership in professional organizations.
• Ensure accuracy of public information materials and activities.
• Oversee staff education, evaluation, and the Quality Assurance/Utilization Review process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least twenty-one years old and not a resident of the assisted living facility.
• Qualified to perform the administrator's duties as specified in WAC 388-78A-2560 and meet requirements of WAC 388-78A-2522 through 388-78A-2527.
• Certified in First Aid and CPR.
• Strong and proven leadership and management skills.
• Ability to relate to the elderly in a positive manner.
• Marketing and public relations skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and develop people.
• College degree and/or five years of management experience preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in the senior industry preferred.

• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills.
• Capable of making mature judgments.
• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.
• Proficient in Microsoft programs.
