Responsibilities

  • Leads day-to-day operations of a larger community (60-65 units and two product lines or 65-175 units with up to two product lines).
  • Oversees associate relations, resident and family engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Creates and executes the business plan to develop the team into a preferred senior living community in the market, growing revenue and profitability in partnership with the district team.
  • Works with sales to drive results and creates an inclusive community culture for high-quality resident experiences and care.
  • Manages all community operations, interacting with staff, residents, prospects, and their representatives as necessary.
  • Develops and implements annual operating and capital budgets; analyzes and executes plans to improve or maintain performance to company standards.
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with the management team, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Empowers department leaders to supervise, direct, and motivate staff, ensuring accountability for department performance.
  • Ensures appropriate staffing levels to meet resident needs and legal requirements.
  • Supports department leaders in attracting, developing, and retaining high-quality associates, including recruiting, training, and reviewing promotions or disciplinary actions.
  • Builds high resident satisfaction and retention through accessibility, problem-solving, and proactive resident relations.
  • Leverages satisfied residents and families to grow community occupancy and executes renewal programs.
  • Partners with Resident Council and administers resident satisfaction surveys to address improvement opportunities.
  • For assisted living or memory care communities, ensures a collaborative relationship with the clinical leader to meet resident care needs.
  • Oversees resident services, including admission, healthcare management, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Ensures service plan reviews are conducted with clinical care team members and resident families.
  • Demonstrates financial acumen by analyzing, developing, and executing budgets to meet revenue, profitability, and occupancy goals.
  • Drives sales and marketing efforts in collaboration with the community sales leader to meet occupancy or revenue targets.
  • Identifies trends and implements approved sales and marketing strategies to maximize revenue (RevPAR).
  • Builds positive relationships with local influencers and professionals to raise the community’s profile.
  • Represents the community and company to governmental agencies, professional organizations, and community groups.
  • Ensures buildings, grounds, and property meet company standards through preventative maintenance and frequent inspections.
  • Enforces company policies and procedures and maintains applicable licenses in accordance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; additional years of experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of three years of operational leadership experience.
  • Valid administrator license in states where required.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use.

Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of the organization, industry, and functional discipline.
  • Extensive understanding of technical areas gained through experience.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft software preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong delegation skills based on individual skills, roles, and interests.
  • Proven success in driving results and demonstrating good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Pay

Base pay is determined by applicant’s skills and experience. Full-time associates are eligible for annual bonus incentives and sales referral bonuses.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands and fingers to handle or feel.
  • Reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Ability to talk or hear and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, or vendors.
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work to ensure shift coverage.
  • On-call as needed.
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, latex, blood-borne pathogens, and various drugs or chemical hazards.
  • Potential injury from transferring, repositioning, or lifting residents.
  • Occasional travel and driving required (Tier 2).
