About the role
In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the community, maintain occupancy and monthly financial performance, supervise staff, and foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Lead the community’s daily operations, associate relations, resident and family engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance.
- Create and execute the business plan to develop the community into a preferred senior living option in the market, growing revenue and profitability in partnership with the district team.
- Collaborate with sales to drive results and achieve occupancy or revenue targets.
- Foster an inclusive community culture that delivers high-quality resident experiences and care, engaging residents, families, and associates.
- Oversee all community operations, interacting with staff, residents, prospects, and their representatives to build and maintain strong working relationships.
- Develop and implement the annual operating and capital budgets with the district team; review and manage community performance against goals.
- Act as a hands-on leader who supervises, directs, and motivates staff, providing assistance as needed to ensure appropriate staffing levels and compliance with legal requirements.
- Attract, develop, engage, and retain associates in alignment with company policies, ensuring they are trained to meet residents' needs.
- Analyze trends in recruiting, turnover, and retention to improve community performance.
- Build a high degree of resident satisfaction and retention by maintaining positive resident relations and proactively resolving issues.
- Leverage satisfied residents and families to grow community occupancy and partner with the Resident Council as needed.
- Administer resident satisfaction surveys and work with the district team to address opportunities for improvement.
- For assisted living or memory care communities, collaborate with the community clinical leader to ensure care and services meet residents' needs.
- Oversee resident services, including the admission process, healthcare management, and maintenance of resident documentation.
- Assist in developing and conducting service plan reviews with the clinical care team and resident families.
- Demonstrate financial acumen to meet or exceed budgeted revenue and profitability, creating plans to address unanticipated expenses or revenue shortfalls.
- Drive sales and marketing efforts to meet or exceed occupancy or revenue targets by developing new business, generating leads, and building strategic relationships.
- Identify and build relationships with local influencers and professionals to raise the community’s profile.
- Represent the community and company in governmental, professional, and community organizations.
- Ensure buildings, grounds, and property meet company standards through preventative maintenance and frequent inspections.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable licenses.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of three years of operational leadership experience.
- Senior Living experience is required.
- Understanding of hiring, training, evaluating, motivating, and disciplining personnel.
- Business development, sales, and marketing experience.
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexible.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation.
- Valid administrator license in states where required.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a private vehicle for business use.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of operational leadership experience; additional experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Skills
- Analytic skills and understanding of organizational and business operations.
- Leadership skills for directing, coordinating, and evaluating resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of the senior living industry and functional disciplines.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation skills.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft software.

Pay
Base pay is determined by skills and experience. Full-time associates are eligible for an annual bonus incentive and sales referral bonuses.
Schedule
- Occasional weekend, evening, or night work to ensure shift coverage.
- On-call availability as needed.
- Possible exposure to communicable diseases, infections, latex, blood-borne pathogens, and various chemical or biological hazards.
- Requires occasional travel and driving (Tier 2).
