About the role

The role involves directing the day-to-day functions of an assisted living or senior living community, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing appropriate care for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws governing the operation of senior living communities.
  • Practical training in Senior Living Community operations, departmental organization and management.
  • Able to represent the facility to various stakeholders and respond to concerns.
  • Ability to foster interdisciplinary cooperation and coordinate quality assurance efforts.
  • Knowledge of emergency and disaster procedures, including the ability to locate exits and respond to emergencies.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete projects within allotted time.
  • Ability to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related fields.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long-term care facility.
  • Current and unrestricted Administrator licensure in the state of practice.
  • Working knowledge of long-term care operational standards set forth in the Federal Register.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in related field preferred.

Knowledge of human resources principles, labor laws, and union contracts; ability to manage personnel functions and supervise employees; competency in financial management, budgeting, and resource allocation; ability to develop and implement administrative policies and procedures; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to foster interdisciplinary cooperation and quality assurance efforts; ability to prioritize responsibilities and complete projects within allotted time; ability to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned; ability to carry out essential functions of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing specific, current risk of substantial harm to health and safety of self and others.
