Executive Director, Asset Team Lead

About the role

For our client, we are seeking an Executive Director, Asset Team Lead to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This leader will guide the strategy for small molecule clinical assets across oncology and immunology/inflammation programs. The role will translate scientific and computational insights into clear portfolio decisions, competitive narratives, and execution priorities that strengthen the company’s development pipeline. It will partner closely with functional leaders to align resources, refine asset cases, and support informed leadership decisions in a fast-moving biotech environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive asset strategy for small molecule clinical programs
• Translate internal scientific and clinical insights into strategic advantages
• Develop and pressure-test competitive narratives for oncology and immunology/inflammation assets
• Partner with functional leaders to align resources with strategic goals
• Promote a mindset focused on improving patient lives through innovative asset delivery

Qualifications

• PhD in life sciences or a related discipline with drug discovery expertise
• 10+ years of biotech/pharma experience in strategic leadership
• Expertise in developing small molecule therapeutics for oncology and immunology/inflammation
• Experience using computational approaches to strengthen asset strategy
• Ability to present and articulate competitive clinical asset cases
• Strong financial acumen for portfolio valuation and resource allocation
• Exceptional executive presence for clear communication with leadership

Pay

Compensation: $180,000 – $220,000 annually
