Executive & Comm Specialist
About the role
The Executive & Communications Specialist for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology oversees daily and long-range activities and projects for the Department Chair and Department Administrator. The incumbent is responsible for various duties including executive support for department leadership, development of department communications, and serves as a project manager on various initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Maintains a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Demonstrates customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Communicates effectively verbally and in writing.
- Has a keen awareness of organizational politics, tact, and diplomacy.
- Serves as the public relations contact for all department matters and represents the department at various meetings.
- Provides executive level support to the Chair, and Department Administrator, including purchasing, reimbursement, and travel arrangements.
- Manages the department newsletter, website, and all active department social media accounts.
- Works closely with Advancement on fundraising campaigns for the department.
Requirements

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
- Strong skills in short-term planning analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
