Join the culinary team at The Westin Tempe as a full-time Executive Chef and lead our exceptional dining experiences.
About the Role
As the culinary ambassador for the hotel, you will oversee Terra Tempe Restaurant, SkySill Rooftop Lounge, Cup of Joe, and 21,214 square feet of meeting and event space. Your leadership will ensure all menu items are prepared to the highest quality standards, with strict compliance in food handling and storage. This role includes menu development, food purchasing, and maintaining approved food and labor cost controls.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the kitchen team to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
- Develop and refine menus and recipes for multiple dining venues.
- Ensure all food preparation adheres to quality and safety standards.
- Maintain food and labor cost controls through effective purchasing and inventory management.
- Oversee food handling, storage, and compliance with established guidelines.
- Collaborate with the team to maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment.
- Supervise, train, and discipline kitchen staff as needed.
- Ensure the security of kitchen access, products, and hotel property.
- Assist with physical tasks such as transporting goods, lifting pots, and moving supplies (up to 100 lbs).
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Self-starting personality with a professional and even disposition.
- Maintain a polished appearance and courteous manner at all times.
- Strong guest service skills and willingness to assist team members.
- Ability to plan, organize, and supervise kitchen operations.
- Dexterity to operate kitchen machinery and handle food ingredients.
- Stamina to work under stress, time constraints, and continuous physical activity.
