Executive Chef

Work Performed

• Lead and manage all aspects of the hotel operation
• Deliver results that contribute to the vision and overall success of the hotel
• Run all aspects of kitchen operations in conjunction with the General Manager
• Ensure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any hotel policies and practices, are followed
• Handle and store food and ingredients safely
• Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Monitor inventory and purchase supplies/food from approved vendors
• Hire, train, and supervise all kitchen staff
• Jump on the line and assist the team when needed, always leading by example
• Craft and continually evolve a compelling menu that reflects our commitment to culinary excellence and innovation
• Ensure all areas of the kitchen, food prep, and food storage areas are clean and properly sanitized
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Executive Chef experience
• Previous experience in a managerial role overseeing a team, preferably in hospitality
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form with guests, management, and associates
• Strong operational knowledge of kitchen management, menu development, and food cost control
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to understand and provide excellent customer service
• Ability to learn applicable systems (POS, Microsoft Outlook + Suite, and more)
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift/push up to 50 lbs
• Must be responsible and be able to work independently
• Must be able to work onsite at the hotel location
• Must be flexible; Weekends/ Holidays
• Experienced, banquet knowledge, bilingual a plus
• Proficiency in the English language

Additional Preferred Skills/Qualities

• Successful demonstration of high level culinary safety knowledge
• Second language is a plus, preferably Spanish or French
• Compensation: $65,000 Annually
