EXECUTIVE CHEF - Wauwatosa School District, WI

Job Summary

The Wauwatosa School District is seeking an Executive Chef to lead culinary operations across 17 schools. The role reports to the Director of Dining Services and involves delivering nutritious, high-quality meals that appeal to a diverse student population.

Key Responsibilities

• Plans regular and modified menus according to established guidelines
• Follows standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards
• Trains kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, operation of equipment, food safety, and sanitation
• Maintains inventory of food and non-food supplies
• Makes decisions regarding utilization of leftover food products
• Complies with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations
• Participates in departmental meetings and professional programs

Preferred Qualifications

• A.S. or equivalent experience preferred
• Minimum of three plus years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience
• Catering experience a plus
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience - highly desirable
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences
• Hands-on chef experience a must!
• Comprehensive knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• ServSafe certified - highly desirable
