About the role
Ema, a Mediterranean restaurant in Chicago's River North, is seeking an Executive Chef with 2 years of Executive Chef experience. The position oversees BOH operations, develops seasonal menus, trains staff, and manages inventory and food costs.
Responsibilities
- Oversee, monitor, and ensure effective and efficient BOH operations
- Maintain consistent purchasing standards and inventory
- Track and control food costs
- Provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams
- Research, develop, and execute seasonal menus and new menu items
- Conduct quarterly in-restaurant audits of BOH SOPs and systems
- Purchase and order food products and supplies
- Interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop BOH employees
- Model and promote teamwork across all teams
- Respond to challenges with patience and courtesy
- Work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, and weekends
Requirements
- 5+ years of Executive Chef experience in a full-service restaurant
- Ability to lead and develop teams
- Skilled in managing BOH systems
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a culinary degree and a proven track record of success in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Pay
USD $70,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
Schedule
Work a variety of days and shifts including early mornings, late nights, and weekends at multiple sites with or without overnight travel, as needed.
