About the Role

Northrop Grumman is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support the VP of Corporate Strategy and Strategic Partnerships at our Falls Church, VA Headquarters (VACO). The Executive Assistant will also provide high-level administrative support to senior members of the Corporate Strategy team, including those in Mergers & Acquisitions. As a valued member of the team, this role is the center of day-to-day office operations and will be welcomed into a team environment where input is invited, growth is encouraged, and mutual support is the standard.

The successful candidate communicates and interfaces with enterprise-wide partners, executives, administrative and line management employees. This position requires the individual to perform advanced administrative duties with exposure to sensitive information necessitating tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment. Strong project management skills, emotional intelligence, political savvy, discretion, and integrity are essential for this position.

The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, possess the ability to work with other professionals collaboratively, possess agility and the desire to adapt to constantly changing demands and new tools/technologies, demonstrate a capability to take on new and unfamiliar tasks, and have a tremendous interest in playing a significant role as a member of the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day office operations and support the VP of Corporate Strategy and Strategic Partnerships, as well as senior members of the Corporate Strategy team, including Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Interface with enterprise-wide partners, executives, administrative and line management employees.
  • Perform advanced administrative duties with exposure to sensitive information, requiring tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgment.
  • Manage priorities and projects for senior leadership team members.
  • Coordinate Outlook calendars and other routine items efficiently.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive matters with discretion.
  • Operate in a fast-moving environment, managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Solve problems and meet deadlines with flexibility.
  • Participate in and host in-person and remote video teleconference meetings (Zoom, Skype, Teams, etc.).
  • Compile and generate reports/presentations independently.
  • Coordinate both on and off-site meetings and/or events.
  • Write, proofread, and correct documents.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and a minimum of 6 years of experience in the administrative professional field OR Associate's Degree and a minimum of 4 years in the administrative professional field OR Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years' experience in the administrative professional field.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel), SharePoint, and intranet/internet proficiency.
  • Experience with travel and expense reporting systems (Concur or similar).
  • Understanding of the sensitive nature of working in an executive office, with good judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently, foresee needs, and be proactive.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment and managing information flow accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Initiative and resourcefulness in solving problems without direction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Corporate or executive assistant experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous Aerospace and Defense experience preferred.
  • Ability to swiftly adapt to new tools/technologies to drive efficiency and organization across the global team.
  • Experience writing, proofreading, and correcting documents.
  • Expert-level proficiency with oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface with executive-level internal and external contacts with considerable autonomy.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple administrative projects and initiatives; experience supporting a variety of executive levels, management, and administrative support within an organization.

Pay

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,100.00 - $131,900.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
