About the Role
The Executive Assistant provides high-level administrative and strategic support to the President/Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Board of Commissioners. This role serves as a key partner to executive leadership and is a highly visible representative of the organization. The role manages priorities, facilitates communication, and ensures efficient executive operations. This is not a remote position.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex calendars, meetings, communications, and priorities for the CEO, COO, and Board of Commissioners.
- Anticipate needs and prepare leaders for meetings and decisions.
- Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Draft and review correspondence, reports, and presentations.
- Coordinate board meetings and all related logistics, materials, and communications.
- Maintain accurate meeting minutes for Board meetings and committees.
- Manage sensitive and confidential information.
- Support special projects and organizational initiatives.
- Serve as Notary Public for organizational needs.
- Maintain a polished and professional presence.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field.
- Administrative Professional certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum 5+ years supporting senior executives in a complex organization.
- Proven experience recording, transcribing, and managing meeting minutes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
- Active Notary Public commission in the state of North Carolina (or must be obtained within the first six months of employment).

- Excellent interpersonal communication (written and verbal).
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills tailored to a wide variety of stakeholders (front-line staff, physicians, board members, community members, patients, system executives, vendors, etc.).
- High level of discretion and judgment.
- Tact and diplomacy in representing the hospital’s management to the public, staff, patients, and community.
- High degree of initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Collaborative and teamwork-oriented.
Job Details
This is a full-time, onsite position located at Nash UNC Health Care. Standard hours per week: 40. Work schedule: Day. Exempt from overtime: Yes.
